The Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP) and the Finnish University Partnership for International Development (UniPID) organised the third RECP & UniPID Science & Business Slam on the occasion of the African Network for Solar Energy (ANSOLE) Days 2017 from 5 to 8 May 2017 in Hammamet, Tunisia. Six young and upcoming African and European professionals were chosen from more than 100 applicants to participate at the conference, and invited to pitch their work on solar energy applications to a slam committee and expert audience. The six participating slammers left their audience enthusiastic and were able to connect to international renewable energy experts, with tangible new projects and potential African-European and African-African cooperation on the horizon. Green spaces pitched its outdoor solar charging innovation and came out first from the competition, a promising start.
